Trump showcases “American territories,” including Greenland, Canada

US President Donald Trump shared a new illustration on his Truth Social platform, drawing attention to what he described as “territorial acquisitions.”

The image shows him presenting a map to European representatives, with Greenland and Canada colored in the US flag, Caliber.Az reports.

Earlier, Trump also posted a graphic suggesting that the United States would acquire Greenland in 2026.

Trump has repeatedly expressed interest in buying Greenland, an autonomous Danish territory, saying the US needs it for security and strategic resources, but both Denmark and Greenland’s leaders have firmly rejected the idea and said the territory is not for sale.

The island’s strategic value lies in its Arctic position, hosting US military installations and sitting on key routes between Europe and North America, which is why Trump frames acquisition as important for the US and international security.

Trump also mentioned potential closer integration with Canada in passing, suggesting it could become a US state, a notion widely viewed as symbolic rhetoric rather than concrete policy, and Canadian leaders have dismissed annexation ideas.
