Trump sidesteps question on Iran ceasefire breach criteria: “You’ll find out”
President Donald Trump declined to specify what would constitute a violation of a ceasefire with Iran, saying only “You’ll find out”.
“You’ll find out, because I’ll let you know … they know what to do. They know what not to do,” Donald Trump told reporters in the Oval Office.
He also suggested Iran was adjusting its posture in response to US naval movements, saying the country is “looking around for little boats to try and compete with our great Navy.”
The remarks come amid reported exchanges in the Strait of Hormuz following Trump’s announcement that the United States would guide some vessels through the strategic waterway, a key global oil shipping route.
Earlier on Tuesday, US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth said the “ceasefire is not over.”
Trump added that Iran “wants to make a deal.”
