Trump signals imminent meeting with Putin, predicts safer world
U.S. President Donald Trump has indicated plans to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in the near future, stating that arrangements for the meeting would be made as soon as possible.
Speaking during a visit to the United Arab Emirates, Trump suggested that global security could improve significantly within the coming weeks, linking the anticipated talks with Putin to a broader effort to stabilise international relations, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump stated on May 15 that no meaningful progress could be made toward peace in Ukraine without a direct meeting between him and Russian President Vladimir Putin. His remarks came as highly anticipated Moscow-Kyiv negotiations in Türkiye failed to yield any tangible outcomes.
“Look, nothing is gonna happen until Putin and I get together,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One while travelling to the United Arab Emirates.
“And he wasn’t gonna go … He wasn’t going if I wasn’t there. And I don’t believe anything will happen, whether you like it or not, until he and I get together. But we are gonna have to get it solved because too many people are dying.”
