Trump slams media reports claiming General Caine opposes action on Iran

US President Donald Trump said reports in several American media outlets claiming that General Daniel Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, opposed a potential military operation against Iran are “100% incorrect” and lack verified sources, according to his post on Truth Social.

Trump noted that Caine, like other military leaders, would prefer to avoid war but believes the US could achieve a swift victory if military action is ordered, Caliber.Az reports.

The American leader highlighted Caine’s experience with Iran, including his leadership of Midnight Hammer, during which B‑2 bombers struck Iranian nuclear program sites, fully destroying their development.

“He knows Iran well, in that he was in charge of Midnight Hammer, the attack on the Iranian Nuclear Development. It is a Development no longer, but rather, was blown to smithereens by our Great B-2 Bombers. Razin Caine is a Great Fighter, and represents the Most Powerful Military anywhere in the World,” Trump said.

The president emphasised that Caine did not speak against potential actions toward Iran nor support the limited strikes reported by the media. 

“He has not spoken of not doing Iran, or even the fake limited strikes that I have been reading about, he only knows one thing, how to WIN, and, if he is told to do so, he will be leading the pack,” the president added.

Trump stressed that the final decision on military steps rests with him, while expressing a preference for a diplomatic agreement with Tehran. He added that failure of diplomacy would result in “very bad” consequences for Iran and expressed regret over the possible impact on the Iranian people, describing them as “great and wonderful.”
