Trump to attend transfer of fallen US service members in Delaware
US President Donald Trump will attend a dignified transfer ceremony at Dover Air Force Base on the afternoon of March 18 local time, according to a schedule released by the White House.
The ceremony will honour US service members killed in a recent aircraft crash in western Iraq, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Six personnel died when their refueling aircraft went down last week, in what the US military said was “not due to hostile fire or friendly fire.”
Mike DeWine, the governor of Ohio, said he and his wife would also attend the transfer “to pay our respects” to three of the victims who were from the state.
Earlier this month, Trump attended a similar ceremony for six US Army Reserve soldiers killed in an Iranian drone strike in Kuwait. He was joined by First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and senior military officials.
