Trump to meet defence chief at White House later on March 7
Trump is scheduled to meet US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth later on March 7, according to Reuters.
Closed-press meeting scheduled between other unspecified meetings and talks will begin at 2:30 p.m. (19:30 GMT) and is expected to last one hour.
The president will then depart Washington for Miami, according to a copy of his schedule released by the White House.
In an interview with Reuters on March 5, Trump appeared to escalate his war aims, demanding the right to help choose Iran’s next supreme leader.
Speaking the same day, Hegseth said the United States was not expanding its military objectives as the campaign entered its next phase, warning that Iran would be mistaken to believe the US military could not sustain a prolonged war.
