Trump to meet hostage families during brief Israel visit
US President Donald Trump is scheduled to arrive in Israel on the morning of October 13 for a historically brief visit, during which he will address the Knesset before departing just four hours later—a trip that may coincide with the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.
Trump is expected to land at 9:20 a.m. and leave only four hours afterwards, making it the shortest visit by a sitting US president to Israel, Caliber.Az reports citing Israeli media.
According to reports citing the day's schedule as published by the Israeli prime minister's office, Trump will deliver a speech at the Knesset and meet with the families of hostages. Before his address, he is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the premier’s Knesset office. The two leaders will then join the families in the Knesset’s Chagall Hall.
After his speech, Trump will return to the airport and depart for Egypt, where he will co-chair a peace summit in Sharm el-Sheikh alongside President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi. The summit is expected to host over 20 world leaders, including Azerbaijan’s Ilham Aliyev.
