Trump touches down in Beijing ahead of talks with Xi Jinping PHOTO / VIDEO

US President Donald Trump has arrived in Beijing, the capital of China, together with a delegation, according to RT.

Upon arrival, he was greeted by a brass band performance and flag-waving honour guards chanting as he boarded his presidential vehicle. His delegation includes several leading tech executives, among them Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who was seen on the tarmac.

Earlier, TASS reported that Trump and his accompanying delegation would stay at the Four Seasons and Kempinski hotels.

From May 13 to 15, Trump is expected to hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping on a range of issues, including the Iran conflict, bilateral trade, and the situation surrounding Taiwan. This marks Trump’s first state visit to China since November 2017.

A TASS correspondent said that foreign nationals gathered on streets near the hotels, awaiting the possible arrival of the president, while law enforcement officers urged people not to take photographs.
