Trump: US forces strike Venezuelan drug traffickers, 11 killed VIDEO
The United States military carried out a strike on a vessel belonging to the Venezuelan criminal group “Tren de Aragua,” killing 11 drug traffickers, President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social.
“Earlier this morning, on my Orders, U.S. Military Forces conducted a kinetic strike against positively identified Tren de Aragua Narcoterrorists in the SOUTHCOM area of responsibility. The strike occurred while the terrorists were at sea in International waters transporting illegal narcotics, heading to the United States. The strike resulted in 11 terrorists killed in action,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social, Caliber.Az reports.
The president emphasised that no US personnel were harmed in the operation.
Tren de Aragua is based in Venezuela but operates in other Latin American countries and the United States, where it is officially designated as a terrorist organisation. Trump also suggested in his post that the group may be linked to Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
