US delivers 6,500 tons of military supplies to Israel in 24 hours
The United States delivered approximately 6,500 tons of munitions and military materiel to Israel within a 24-hour period, according to Israeli media.
The shipment was carried out as part of a large-scale global logistics operation involving two cargo ships and multiple cargo aircraft. The vessels docked at the ports of Port of Ashdod and Port of Haifa, transporting thousands of air and ground munitions, military trucks, Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTVs), and additional military equipment.
The operation was led by the Defence Ministry’s Defence Procurement Directorate, in coordination with its International Shipping Division, its mission to the United States, and the Israel Defence Forces’ Planning Directorate.
Following arrival, the equipment was loaded onto hundreds of trucks by the ministry’s Logistics and Assets Department and the IDF Technological and Logistics Directorate. It was then distributed to military bases across the country. The unloading and transfer process at the Port of Ashdod was overseen by Defence Ministry Director-General, Major General (res.) Amir Baram.
The Defence Ministry described the ongoing air and sea bridge as the “central tool for building readiness as the security situation continues to develop.”
“Since the launch of Operation Roaring Lion, Israel has received more than 115,600 tons of military equipment in 403 airlifts and 10 sealifts,” the ministry said.
Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that Israel “stands ready at every moment to act against its enemies, on every front, and wherever necessary. This expanding air and sea bridge directly strengthens the IDF’s capabilities and operational superiority.”
Baram added: “At any given moment, cargo aircraft and ships are en route to Israel, carrying thousands of tons of munitions and military equipment. This is core to the ministry’s strategy: supporting every IDF need, both through massive near-term procurement and by building readiness for a demanding security decade ahead. The impressive procurement and shipping operation we have completed will continue to expand in the weeks ahead.”
