Trump: US will take Kharg Island and Iran’s oil infrastructure assets
U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States will launch “very hard” strikes on Iran later on Thursday night (June 11) and warned of possible moves to seize key oil infrastructure, including Kharg Island, according to a post on Truth Social.
“The United States will be hitting Iran … VERY HARD TONIGHT,” Trump wrote, adding that Iran’s “Navy, Air Force, Radar, Anti Aircraft, and all other forms of Defense … are GONE!”
He further claimed that “at some point in the not too distant future, we will be taking Kharg Island, and other oil infrastructure points, and assume total control of their Oil and Gas Markets.”
Trump also drew a comparison with U.S. actions in Venezuela, saying the approach there was “working out brilliantly for both Venezuela and the United States of America.”
