Trump vs. Harris: Presidential debate set to be announced soon
Candidate for the US presidency from the Republican Party Donald Trump has said that he will soon hold debates with rival Kamala Harris, a contender for the White House from the Democratic Party.
"We will have a debate with her, I think, in the near future. It will be announced soon," Trump said, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
Trump and Harris have been unable to agree on a date and channel for the debate for weeks. The second round of debates was originally scheduled for 10 September on ABC, but after Biden dropped out of the race, Trump's team could not guarantee his participation in the event on that channel. The former president accuses ABC of sympathising with Democrats, being biased and spreading fake news.
Kamala Harris's campaign office later said it disagreed with Republican opponent Donald Trump's decision to hold the September 4 debate on Fox News.
"He needs to stop playing games and show up, as he promised, for the debate on 10 September," Harris' headquarters said in a statement.
