Tunisia labels drone attack on Global Sumud Flotilla as deliberate
Tunisian authorities have stated that the drone attack on a Global Sumud Flotilla vessel in the port of Sidi Bou Said was deliberate, Reuters reports.
This marks the second such incident in two days.
The Tunisian Ministry of Interior, which has not accused any party or state, is investigating the attack.
According to the flotilla organisers, the strikes targeted key mission vessels with the apparent goal of disrupting the convoy, which aims to challenge Israel’s naval blockade of Gaza.
Earlier reports confirmed that the ship en route to Gaza was hit by a drone. No casualties were reported, and the resulting fire was quickly extinguished by Tunisian civil defence forces.
The Global Sumud Flotilla is an international aid initiative that seeks to break Israel's naval blockade and deliver vital humanitarian supplies to war-torn Gaza, using civilian boats.
