Turan battalion said formed as part of Ukraine army VIDEO

21 November 2022 13:17

Turan battalion has reportedly been formed as part of the Ukrainian army.

This was highlighted in a note and subsequent video message posted on November 20 on the Twitter page Clash Report (181,400 followers), which circulates breaking news, reports, and opinions from ongoing clashes around the world.

“Turan Battalion has been established as part of the Ukrainian Army. The first video message from the battalion commander Almaz Kudabek from Kyrgyzstan. There are also citizens of Azerbaijan in the video,” Clash Report tweeted in English.

Kudabek, a battalion commander, spoke in Russian against the background of about 20 armed men in military uniforms, some masked.

“Salamu Aleykum to all Turkic-speaking brothers! Under the guise of a special operation, Putin orchestrates the genocide of the Turkic-speaking people.  Under the cover of Islam, [pro-Russian Chechen leader] Ramzan Kadyrov declares jihad. Islam is sacred to us.  Don’t mess with our saints.  We will destroy Kadyrov’s evil regime and Putin’s imperial regime. We will fully ruin your life. Long live Turan, long live Turan, long live Turan!”

On 24 February 2022, Russia launched a military attack on Ukraine. From the first few days of the hostilities, the Russian army conducted attacks on the civilian population and infrastructure.

Although Ukrainians have already demonstrated their courage and strength in defending their homeland, President  Volodymyr Zelenskyy has created the International Legion of Ukraine, consisting of foreign citizens wishing to join the resistance against Russians and fight for global security.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba claimed that by 6 March 2022 more than 20,000 volunteers from 52 countries had enlisted to fight for Ukraine; several thousand more reportedly joined after the announcement. Kuleba withheld further demographic details because several nations forbid their citizens from fighting for foreign governments.

As of November 2022, volunteers from the legion were recruited from 60 countries.
