Turkic states' space agency officials gather in Uzbekistan
The Organisation of Turkic States' Space Agencies and Related Authorities has held its second meeting in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, TRT Haber reports.
Uzbek Space Agency (Uzbek Kosmos) General Manager Shuhrat Kadyrov, Organization of Turkish States (OTS) Secretary-General Ambassador Kubanicbek Omuraliyev, Turkish Space Agency President Serdar Huseyin Yildirim, Azerbaijani Space Agency (Azercosmos) Chairman Samaddin Asadov, Kazakh Digital Development, Innovations and Aviation Industry Deputy Minister Malik Olcabekov, Kyrgyzstan State Communication Agency Deputy Head Timur Tokoldoshov and observer countries Hungary, Turkmenistan and senior executives of the relevant institutions of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) attended the meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, Omuraliyev noted that space exploration helps to solve many problems facing humanity, and stated that the work to be done in the field of space also sheds light on the future.
Stating that they, as TDT, attach special importance to cooperation in the field of space, Ömuraliyev stated that this meeting is an indication of the efforts of the member countries to develop joint cooperation on space exploration.
Reminding that Turkey's first domestic and national observation satellite with sub-meter resolution was launched into space about 10 days ago, Ömuraliyev congratulated the Turkish side on this occasion.
Stating that the member countries of the Organization have different knowledge and experience on space exploration, Ömuraliyev emphasized the importance of combining this knowledge and experience.
Cube Satellite project
Turkish Space Agency President Serdar Hüseyin Yıldırım also noted that space exploration is very important and said, "Those who are not in space have no say in the world." He told me there was a saying.
Suggesting that the member countries of the Organization implement the joint Cube Satellite project under the coordination of the Turkish Space Agency, Yıldırım emphasized that this is very important for all parties, both technically and in terms of doing business together.
Yıldırım also recommends that young people and children coming from OTS member countries organize a Space Camp in Izmir, while the camp will help young people from these countries to both integrate and learn about space.
Speaking to the Turkish press after the meeting, Yıldırım reminded that the managers of the space research organizations of five members and three observer countries attended the meeting, which was held for the second time this year. He stated that they made proposals and that these proposals were accepted by the participants.
Yıldırım also added that their aim is to take OTS's space initiative forward and to go further by learning to use a certain capacity that exists in each country together.
