Turkish Air Force aircraft to patrol Romania's skies

As part of the NATO air police mission, four F-16 planes from the Turkish Air Force have landed at the 86th Air Base "Air Lieutenant Gheorghe Mochornice" in Borca to monitor the skies of the country.

The Romanian Ministry of National Defence's press service told TASS that around 80 military personnel, including pilots and technical staff, will be accompanying the F-16 planes to perform the duties of the reinforced air police under NATO's supervision.

The joint execution of air policing tasks by the Romanian and Turkish Air Forces will aid in the development of response and deterrence capabilities, as well as improve the interaction between the two forces.
