Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has arrived in the United States to take part in the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
Upon arrival in New York, Erdoğan visited the “Turkish House,” where he briefly met with members of the Turkish community who gathered to welcome him, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
The “High-Level Week” of the session will begin on September 23. Traditionally, the President of Brazil will deliver the first address, followed by the U.S. President as the head of the host country. Erdoğan is scheduled to be the fourth speaker at the UN General Assembly podium.
This year’s “High-Level Week,” marking the 80th session, will bring together heads of state and government from 193 UN member countries, as well as foreign ministers from several states. The event is expected to last until September 30.
