Turkish president vows ongoing battle against FETO Until total elimination
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that the authorities will persist in their fight against the terrorist organization FETO, which is deemed a significant threat by Ankara.
"We will resolutely continue the fight against FETO until it is completely eradicated. We will pursue its members wherever they may be," Erdogan stated, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
Turkish intelligence confirmed the death of FETO terror group's ringleader Fetullah Gulen on October 21.
"Our intelligence sources confirm the death of the FETO organization's leader," FM Fidan said in response to Anadolu's question at a joint press conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha in Ankara.
Gulen had been living in the US state of Pennsylvania. Turkish leaders had long sought his extradition, but US judicial officials did not approve it.
He orchestrated the defeated coup of July 15, 2016 in Türkiye in which 252 people were killed and 2,734 wounded.
Ankara also accuses FETO of being behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police and judiciary.
