Turkish university rectors visit Victory Park in Azerbaijan on Memorial Day PHOTO

On September 27, marking Memorial Day, rectors of several Turkish universities—including Iğdır, Kars Caucasus, Artvin Çoruh, Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen, Bolu İzzet Baysal, Erzurum Technical, Van Yüzüncü Yıl, and Ardahan—visited Victory Park in Azerbaijan.

The were accompanied by staff from Azerbaijan's State Committee for Work with the Diaspora, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

Victory Park has become one of the symbols of the Patriotic War.

The committee members and guests laid flowers at the memorial stone and paid tribute to the sons of Azerbaijan who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence and territorial integrity.

Today, September 28, Azerbaijani diaspora organisations around the world are holding numerous events dedicated to Memorial Day, highlighting the significance of the date in the countries where they reside. Houses of Azerbaijan, operating in 20 countries, have set up memorial corners and organised commemorative events.
