Türkiye's BRICS bid: Strategic move to enhance global influence, trade independence

Türkiye's application to join BRICS marks a significant and symbolic move in its evolving geopolitical strategy, experts say.

George Dyson, a senior analyst within Control Risks, said that Ankara's decision aligns with its broader aim of establishing itself as a key independent player in a multipolar world, Caliber.Az reports.

Dyson emphasized that Türkiye’s pursuit of BRICS membership reflects its desire to create and strengthen diverse trade relationships, independent of Western influences.

“This does not signify a complete disengagement from the West, but rather an effort by Türkiye to expand its global trade network and exert influence without being constrained by Western alignment,” Dyson noted.
