Türkiye to host international congress on Zangezur Corridor
Igdir University in Türkiye is set to host an international congress next April, bringing together global experts, officials, and diplomats on the theme “Zangezur: Peace, Prosperity, and a Shared Future” (Zengezur: Barış, Refah ve Ortak Gelecek).
The rector of the Turkish university, Ekrem Gurel, said that the event, scheduled for April 9-1, 2026, will consider the strategic opportunities that the Zangezur Corridor will open up for the region and the entire international community against the backdrop of contemporary challenges, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Representatives of official structures, scientists, experts, and delegations from international organisations are expected to participate in the discussions.
According to Guler, special emphasis will be placed on steps to strengthen peace, develop cooperation, and ensure the sustainable development of the South Caucasus countries.
The university rector explained that congress participants will consider issues such as the legal status of the Zangezur Corridor, as well as security, economics, history, logistics, public diplomacy, and cultural components related to this route.
