Tusk signals possible shift in Poland’s support for Ukraine
04 July 2026 14:20
Poland is set to reassess the scale of its assistance to Ukraine, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said, calling for restraint in public statements on future financial support.
Speaking as reported by Rzeczpospolita, Tusk urged members of the Polish delegation to exercise caution when addressing the issue of continued aid from Warsaw.
“It is not that I believe Ukraine does not need financial support,” Tusk said.
He added that, as Ukraine continues to fight, Poland is shouldering significant responsibility for safeguarding the European Union’s eastern frontier. Tusk stressed that allies should recognise this burden and give Poland particular consideration in their approach.
