Twelve US troops wounded in Iranian attack on Saudi Prince Sultan air base

Twelve American service members were wounded in an Iranian attack on Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia on March 27, according to multiple US and Arab officials, an increase from the 10 injuries previously reported.

Two of the troops sustained significant injuries, while 10 others suffered concussions, one official told the Wall Street Journal. The injured personnel were inside a building on the base that was struck during the attack.

Officials said the assault also caused damage to several U.S. refueling aircraft stationed at the base. At least one missile hit the facility, along with multiple unmanned aerial vehicles, according to two of the officials.

The incident comes amid heightened regional tensions, with Saudi Arabia and several Gulf states adopting a more assertive posture toward Iran, raising concerns about the risk of broader military escalation.
