Twin earthquakes shake China's Qinghai region back-to-back

Two earthquakes measuring 5.7 and 5.8 struck Xinghai County in the Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai Province, western China, on July 28, according to the China Earthquake Networks Centre (CENC).

The first quake, with a magnitude of 5.7, was recorded at 11:16 a.m. local time (07:16 Baku time). Eighteen minutes later, at 11:34 a.m. (07:34 Baku time), a second 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck the same area, Caliber.Az reports.

According to CENC, the epicentre of the second earthquake was located at 35.35°N, 99.58°E, while both quakes originated at a depth of 10 kilometres.

No casualties or damage have been reported so far.
