Two hurt after deputy mayor opens fire during Ukrainian town hall dispute VIDEO
A shooting incident has taken place inside the city council building in the Ukrainian town of Svitlovodsk, located in the Kirovohrad region, during a dispute between municipal employees, according to local authorities.
The incident occurred inside the Svitlovodsk City Council premises, where an internal conflict escalated, and shots were fired, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.
Local police confirmed the incident and said an investigation has been launched.
City council secretary Maksym Bakumenko stated that two people were injured in the shooting. Both victims, who are council employees, were evacuated from the building and received medical attention.
Preliminary reports suggest that the first deputy mayor, Serhii Savych, was the person who opened fire. Video footage of the incident was reportedly published by Savych himself, according to local media reports.
