Two killed, 15 wounded in violent feud between families on Crete
Two rival families on the Greek island of Crete engaged in a shootout that left two people dead and at least 14 others injured, ERT News reports.
According to the report, the clash occurred in the village of Vorizia near the city of Heraklion.
The shootout reportedly followed the planting of an explosive device in a house under construction belonging to one of the families. The explosion caused material damage, after which members of the affected clan began firing at the cars and house of their rivals.
The two deceased are a 39-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman.
Two other men of those 14 wounded are in serious condition, but their lives are not in danger. They are being treated under guard as they are allegedly involved in the shootings.
The Ministry for Citizen Protection described the incident as the most serious of its kind in Greece in recent years.
