Two killed in small plane crash near Croatia’s Zadar
Two people were killed when a small aircraft travelling from the Czech Republic crashed near the Croatian city of Zadar, police said.
According to police, cited by RTE, a search-and-rescue operation was launched after air traffic controllers lost contact with the aircraft at around 4 p.m. local time.
The wreckage was subsequently located in the mountainous area of Paklenica National Park, about 60 km northeast of Zadar.
“The search for the missing ultralight aircraft ended at around 10 p.m., when members of the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service found the aircraft and two deceased people,” police said in a statement.
The nationalities of those killed have not been disclosed.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
