Two teenagers shot dead in Canada parking garage

Two teenagers have been killed in a shooting inside a parking garage in the Canadian city of Surrey, British Columbia, in what police are treating as a double homicide.

The police said officers responded to reports of gunfire in an underground parkade near 133B Street and 70B Avenue at about 10 p.m. PT (Pacific Time) on May 10, and they found two male youths suffering from gunshot wounds, Caliber.Az reports, citing Canadian media.

Despite emergency life-saving efforts, both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) confirmed the victims were a 16-year-old and an 18-year-old, both residents of Surrey.

Investigators are currently working with their families to piece together their movements in the hours leading up to the shooting.

Police believe the incident was a targeted attack and say it is connected to the ongoing gang conflict in British Columbia.

“This shooting has left two families grieving the loss of young lives taken far too soon,” said IHIT Sgt. Freda Fong in a statement.

Investigators also reported finding a burned grey four-door sedan near 144 Street and 84 Avenue, which they believe was linked to the attack. No arrests have been made so far.
