UAE boosts oil production capacity after OPEC+ exit
17 June 2026 12:49
The United Arab Emirates is expected to retain the ability to further expand its oil production capacity following its withdrawal from OPEC and OPEC+ on May 1, although restoring and normalizing production and export levels is likely to remain its immediate priority.
According to materials released by the International Energy Agency (IEA), the UAE continues to possess significant potential for increasing its oil output capabilities in the coming years, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
The agency noted that the country's oil production capacity has risen substantially over the past decade, reaching nearly 4.4 million barrels per day (bpd) in 2026, compared with 3.1 million bpd in 2016.
