UAE FM holds urgent talks amid regional missile threats
On March 4, UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan conducted phone discussions with several international counterparts and officials to address regional tensions following recent missile and drone attacks affecting the UAE and other Arab nations.
Participants included China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government Masrour Barzani, and the foreign ministers of Indonesia, Mexico, Lebanon, South Africa, as well as Greece’s defence minister, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
The talks focused on the escalation’s impact on regional security, international trade, energy supplies, and the global economy. Officials condemned the attacks on the UAE and other regional countries as violations of international law and reaffirmed the right of affected states to take measures to protect their sovereignty and security.
Al Nahyan emphasised that all residents and visitors in the UAE are safe and thanked international partners for their support and solidarity. Officials also highlighted the need for coordinated efforts to prevent further escalation and promote political and diplomatic solutions to maintain regional stability.
