UAE official: Middle East paying price for Iran’s policies
United Arab Emirates presidential adviser Anwar Gargash said countries in the Middle East should not bear the cost of Iran’s regional ambitions, warning that such policies undermine broader security and stability.
In a post published on X, cited by Caliber.Az, Gargash, who serves as diplomatic adviser to the UAE president, said the impact of Iran’s actions is being felt across multiple parts of the region.

“From the Gulf countries to Yemen, Lebanon and Iraq — we are all paying the price for Iran’s inflated regional ambitions. The role of any country in the region cannot be secured at the expense of overall security, stability and prosperity,” he wrote.
Gargash added that the current situation underscores the need for a reassessment of regional dynamics and the framework governing international relations in the Middle East.
According to the Emirati official, any such shift must be grounded in established principles of state conduct.
“A revision of this course is necessary and inevitable based on clear principles of respect for sovereignty, good neighbourliness and non-interference in the affairs of other states,” he said.
