UAE’s presidential aide: Iran unable to “close chapter of war”
Anwar Gargash, diplomatic adviser to the president of the United Arab Emirates, has criticised Iran’s recent actions, saying Tehran remains unable to move toward de-escalation and “close the chapter of war.”
In a post on the social media platform X, cited by Caliber.Az, Gargash pointed to what he described as Iranian attacks on commercial tankers belonging to Qatar and Saudi Arabia in the Strait of Hormuz, as well as repeated attacks targeting Bahrain and Kuwait.

“Iranian attacks on commercial tankers of Qatar and Saudi Arabia in the Strait of Hormuz, as well as repeated attacks directed against brotherly Bahrain and Kuwait, are a clear indicator that Tehran is still unable to meet the requirements for de-escalation and close the chapter of war,” he wrote.
“The Gulf states cannot remain a target for Iran, wavering between the logic of escalation and the path of rationality, stability and peace,” he added.
