UAE schools shift to distance learning nationwide
The United Arab Emirates has ordered all schools and kindergartens to switch to distance learning for several days, citing safety considerations.
The Ministry of Education of the United Arab Emirates announced that distance learning will be in effect from May 5 to May 8, 2026, covering all public and private schools as well as kindergartens nationwide.
According to Gulf Business, the measure applies to students, teachers, and administrative staff and is intended to ensure the safety and well-being of the entire educational community.
Officials said the situation will be reviewed on May 8, with the possibility of extending distance learning if required.
The move comes only weeks after schools across the United Arab Emirates resumed in-person classes on April 20, following the implementation of comprehensive safety plans.
