UK announces new ambassador to Kyrgyzstan
The United Kingdom has appointed Vicente Solera Deuchar as its new Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, succeeding Nicholas Bowler. He is scheduled to take up the post officially in August 2026.
The appointment was announced by the British diplomatic mission, Caliber.Az reports.
Solera Deuchar brings extensive experience from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), which he joined in 2012. During his tenure, he has held a number of key positions, including serving as a G20 coordinator and as private secretary to the minister for Europe and the Americas.
He has also served at British diplomatic missions in Moscow and Addis Ababa. Since 2025, he has been studying the Kyrgyz language in preparation for his new assignment.
The outgoing ambassador, Nicholas Bowler, has headed the UK diplomatic mission in Bishkek since 2023.
