The United Kingdom has appointed Angela Eagle as its new Minister for Security, according to a government decree issued as part of a ministerial reshuffle.
Eagle succeeds Dan Jarvis, who has been appointed the country's new Minister of Defence, Caliber.Az reports.
Before taking on her new role, Eagle served as a minister in the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and later held the position of Minister for Border Security and Asylum at the Home Office.
A long-serving member of the UK Parliament, Eagle has held a number of senior government and opposition roles throughout her political career.
