UK diesel prices hit all-time record amid mounting pressure on drivers

The average price of diesel fuel in the United Kingdom has reached £1.9918 ($2.65) per litre, setting a new record, according to the motoring organisation RAC.

As a result, filling up a typical family car with a 55-litre tank now costs £110 ($146), which is £31 ($41) more than before the war in Iran began.

RAC Head of Policy Simon Williams noted that the record diesel price will mean additional costs “not only at the pumps for drivers, but for everyone who buys goods or services that rely on diesel lorries and vans.”

He added that the costs resulting from higher diesel prices “will be passed on to consumers.”
