UK EuroMillions ticket-holder wins $185 million jackpot

Operator Camelot has announced that a UK ticket-holder has won more than £171 million ($185 million) with the EuroMillions jackpot.

No information will be released on whether the claimant is an individual, or a syndicate winner unless the ticket-holder decides to go public, according to the Guardian.

The amount is a mere £24 million ($26 million) short of the record EuroMillions win.

Prior to today, 15 UK players have won a jackpot of more than £100 million ($108 million).

The EuroMillions draw is held twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays, and is played in nine European countries.
