UK intelligence announces "substantial areas" in Kharkiv region reclaimed by Ukraine
"Ukraine continues to make progress in offensive operations along both the northeastern and southern fronts. In the north-east, in Kharkiv Oblast, Ukraine has now consolidated a substantial area of the territory east of the Oskil River."
Caliber.Az reports referring to the October 5 British Intelligence update on the situation in Ukraine, published on Twitter by the UK Defence Ministry.
According to the report, the army has advanced up to 20 km beyond the river and thus entered Russian defensive zones, now marching towards an important supply point for Putin's army in the town of Svatove.
The Ukrainian offensive operations continue to make progress along both, the northeastern and southern frontlines.
“It is highly likely that Ukraine can now strike the key Svatove-Kremina road with most of its artillery systems, further straining Russia’s ability to resupply its units in the east”, the ministry noted.
The daily brief also included the ministry's assessment of the current political mood in Russia, stating that they believe the political leadership in Moscow “will highly likely be concerned that leading Ukrainian units are now approaching the borders of Luhansk Oblast, which Russia claimed to have formally annexed last Friday [September 30]”.
The illegal and unprovoked invasion of Ukraine is continuing.
