UK Royal Air Force Hawk jet crashes near Anglesey PHOTO

A Royal Air Force (RAF) Hawk jet, operated by the United Kingdom's air and space force, has crashed near Anglesey in North Wales, with smoke rising from the wreckage.

The T2 Hawk aircraft is believed to have crashed after taking off from RAF Valley, with two crew members ejecting shortly before it hit the ground, Caliber.Az reports via British media.

North Wales Police said the two pilots were being treated for what were thought to be minor injuries. No further damage or injuries were reported.

Witnesses described hearing an "enormous bang" and seeing a "huge wall of fire" and black smoke as the aircraft came down.

An RAF spokesperson said: "An incident involving an RAF T2 Hawk aircraft, flying out of RAF Valley, occurred near Anglesey. An investigation is underway and we will not comment further at this time."
