UK to deploy troops in Middle East only under legal grounds, says PM's secretary

The UK Prime Minister's Chief Secretary, Darren Jones, has said Britain will deploy its armed forces in the Middle East only if there are legitimate grounds, a clear plan of action, and if it is in the national interest.

He has thus commented on US President Donald Trump's statement about relations between the two countries, emphasising that ties between London and Washington remain important, as reported by the BBC.

Jones also noted that cooperation between the countries continues on an operational level, and the militaries of the two states are working closely together.
