UK to train Turkish pilots under Typhoon deal
The UK Ministry of Defence has announced the signing of an agreement with Türkiye to train Turkish pilots and ground personnel to operate and maintain Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft.
According to the British ministry, the contract is part of a major export package worth £8 billion (€9.2 billion), concluded in October 2025.
The document was signed in London by British Defence Secretary John Healey and his Turkish counterpart Yaşar Güler. The agreement marks the next phase of Türkiye’s participation in the Eurofighter programme and is aimed at strengthening NATO combat capabilities.
Under the contract, 10 Turkish pilots and around 100 ground crew specialists will undergo training in the UK. The deal also предусматривает the production of components and spare parts for aircraft maintenance, involving British companies such as BAE Systems, Leonardo UK, MBDA, Rolls-Royce, and Martin-Baker.
