UK urges citizens to avoid travel to Lebanon

The United Kingdom, on March 5, advised its citizens to refrain from travelling to Lebanon amid escalating tensions in the Middle East and intensified clashes between Israel and Hezbollah, according to the UK Foreign Office website.

The advisory now covers the entire territory of Lebanon, except in special circumstances, whereas previous guidance applied only to specific areas. The warning follows a sharp escalation that began on the morning of March 2, when Hezbollah militants fired several rockets at Israeli positions.
