UKMTO: Cargo ship chased by armed men near Gulf of Aden

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), a coordination center for maritime trade under the Royal Navy, has received a report of an incident that occurred 100 nautical miles east of the Yemeni city of Aden.

The ship’s captain said that his vessel was pursued for two hours by armed individuals on several small boats, Caliber.Az reports, citing the UKMTO page on X.

The captain altered the vessel’s course toward the Yemeni coast, after which the pursuit ceased.

UKMTO stated that no crew members were harmed during the incident.
