UKMTO reports projectile strike on tanker off Oman

A tanker was attacked off the coast of Oman, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) centre announced.

“UKMTO has received a time-late report of an incident 12NM north of Khasab, Oman. A tanker has been struck by an unknown projectile whilst transiting inbound in the Strait of Hormuz,” the centre said.

The incident occurred on August 29, according to the UKMTO. There were no reports of casualties or environmental damage. The name of the vessel was not disclosed.
