UKMTO reports tanker incident in Gulf of Oman

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said on July 25 it had received a report of an incident involving a tanker and armed forces of an unidentified country in the Gulf of Oman.

“UKMTO has received a report of an incident involving a tanker and armed forces in the Gulf of Oman,” the agency said in a statement.

No further details were immediately available regarding the nature of the encounter or the parties involved.

UKMTO urged vessels operating in the vicinity to exercise heightened caution and to report any suspicious activity, in line with standard maritime security protocols.
