UKMTO warns after tanker crew reports explosions in Strait of Hormuz

The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has issued a warning after receiving a delayed report of an incident approximately nine nautical miles southeast of Kumzar, Oman.

According to the report, the master of a tanker heard two explosions while the vessel was transiting the Strait of Hormuz. UKMTO said the crew and the vessel were safe, with no environmental damage reported.

Vessels transiting the area have been advised to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity to UKMTO.
