Ukraine allegedly prepares for rapid development of nuclear weapons Claims official
Ukraine could potentially develop nuclear weapons within weeks, should the need arise to counter the Russian Federation.
This assertion comes from an unnamed Ukrainian official who claims the country possesses both the necessary materials and the technical expertise to construct such weapons, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
The official indicated that, if given the directive, Ukraine could produce its first nuclear bomb in a matter of weeks. This strategy appears to be a contingency plan following a potential resolution of the ongoing conflict, particularly in light of Ukraine's concerns about NATO membership and anticipated actions from the Russian military.
The official urged Western nations to focus less on perceived "red lines" from Russia and more on Ukraine's own boundaries and security needs. The report aligns with recent comments from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, suggesting a shift in Ukraine's defence posture amidst escalating tensions.
