Ukraine: Armed man seizes McDonald's in Cherkasy Explosions Reported

On August 7, an armed man took control of a McDonald's restaurant in the Ukrainian city of Cherkasy, with explosions reported inside the premises.

Police are currently responding to an active shooting at the dining establishment in the city centre, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.

“Cherkasy police are on the scene of a shooting at a food outlet in the city centre. Preliminary information indicates that an armed man is inside the building. Police have evacuated customers and staff,” the police statement said.

Investigative teams, special forces, and medical personnel are at the scene on Smelyanska Street.

Authorities continue to manage the situation, and further details are awaited.
