Ukraine calls urgent UN Security Council over Kyiv missile strike
Ukraine has requested urgent meetings of the United Nations Security Council and the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) following a missile strike on Kyiv, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has stated.
In a post on X, Sybiha said he has instructed all their missions to international organisations to fully use the multilateral toolkit in response to yesterday’s barbaric Russian missile strike on Kyiv, Caliber.Az reports.
According to him, the UN, OSCE, Council of Europe and UNESCO must give an adequate and decisive response to Russia, which is trying to compensate for the lack of military success on the battlefield with terror against the civilian population.
I instructed all our missions to international organizations to make full use of the multilateral toolbox in response to last night’s barbaric Russian missile attack on Kyiv.

UN, OSCE, Council of Europe, and UNESCO should provide an adequate and strong response to the aggressor,…
“We immediately request an urgent UN Security Council meeting and a joint meeting of OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation and OSCE Permanent Council,” he noted.
He made it clear that Vladimir Putin is trying to intimidate Ukraine by attacking civilians and destroying residential buildings, museums, schools and critical infrastructure.
“He is also trying to intimidate the world by launching IRBMs against peaceful cities. All of this requires strong and coordinated action by the international community. We urge our partners to resolute multilateral actions aimed at deterring Russia and compelling it toward a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace,” the Ukrainian FM added.
