Ukraine can get Turkish electricity via floating power plants in Romania, Moldova

Türkiye can supply 300-400 megawatts of electricity to Ukraine by means of floating power plants in Romania and Moldova.

CEO of the Turkish company Karpowership Zeynep Haresi made the statement in an interview with Anadolu Agency, adding that three to four such plants are on the agenda.

"We are now negotiating with Ukraine, including the United Nations (UN) and some other organisations to help provide about 300 or 400 megawatts of power with power ships, trying to find the best solution on how and where to deploy the stations," Haresi said.

She noted the company could supply enough electricity to meet the needs of about a million households, adding that negotiations had already started on this issue.

The Karpowership CEO explained that for safety reasons, floating plants would be better placed in Moldovan and Romanian ports, from which electricity would be provided by transmission lines to Ukraine.
